At Ochs Consulting LLC, we have a collaborative approach to crop consulting and an understanding that a “one size fits all” solution does not work in upstate New York Agriculture. Our team of professional consultants will work with you to get the right seed and right agronomic solutions for your operation.
We offer a full range of crop consulting services out of our office and warehouse in Trumansburg, NY.
Meet Our Team
Mark Ochs
Owner
Mark has over 35 years of experience in the seed, fertilizer, and agronomic consulting industry in Upstate New York. He brings a large knowledge base in soil fertility, seed selection, and crop management to find solutions for your farm. Mark has been scouting fields throughout the Finger Lakes region, the southern tier of NY, and northern Pennsylvania for many years, and has probably seen it all! He can help you to identify pests and problems that affect your crops.
Siôn Williams
Certified Crop Advisor
Siôn is a Certified Crop Advisor who comes to us from north Wales in the UK, where he grew up on a sheep farm. He has been at Ochs Consulting since 2009. Siôn brings his positive energy to all he does helping you to get the products you need, when you need them!
Jake Persoon
Operations Manager
Jake grew up on a dairy farm in Interlaken, NY and returned to his roots after attending West Point and serving 6 years as an officer in the Army. Jake has worked at Ochs Consulting since 2018. Jake’s specialty is keeping our operation running smoothly, but you’ll also see him out in the field.
Mike Lilyea
Sales Associate
Mike has sold Pioneer products with the Ochs Consulting team for over 20 years. He and his dad farm 1500 acres of corn, wheat and beans in Yates County. In addition, Mike installs field tile and does custom corn drying. He and his wife, Melissa live in Penn Yan with their 2 children, Lizzie and Garrett.
Mary Ochs
Agricultural Information Specialist
Mary joined Ochs Consulting in 2020 after 36 years as an agricultural librarian at Cornell University, most recently serving as the Director of Mann Library. She is now putting her information management skills to work for Ochs Consulting.
Andrew Persoon
Warehouse Manager
Andrew grew up in Orange County, NY where he worked for multiple farms throughout high school, to include a 400 head sheep farm and his parents hay farm. Andrew joined the Ochs Consulting team in 2021 after working for a custom harvesting company based in Kansas. His specialty is managing the warehouse, running deliveries, and performing various tasks in the field.
